Step 2: Turn your pillowcase inside out before handwashing.
Step 3: Wash gently to clean the pillowcase; try to avoid scrubbing or rubbing.

Step 5: Drain and rinse with cool water, gently pressing against the washing bowl or sink.
Step 6: Avoid twisting or wringing your pillowcase.
Step 7: Air dry only and avoid tumble drying.
2. How To Machine Wash Your Silkora Pillowcase?
Silkora’s pure silk pillowcases are designed to be machine washable and as low maintenance as possible. For best results, we recommend using a laundry wash bag. While our SilverSilk™ pillowcases can handle machine washing, it's crucial to treat silk with the care and attention it deserves due to its natural fibre nature.
Step 1: Turn your pillowcase inside out before placing it into a laundry wash bag.
Step 2: Machine wash on a delicate cycle or in cold water. Ensure the temperature is less than 30°C.
Step 3: Add the recommended amount of gentle pH-neutral liquid detergent specially designed for silk.
Step 4: Air dry only; avoid using a tumble dryer.
Tips: Do not use chlorine bleach, trichloroethylene or fabric softener
3. How To Dry Your Silkora Pillowcase?
We recommend air drying, Avoid Tumble drying.
Step 1: After handwashing or using a delicate cycle on the washing machine, remove the wet pillowcase.
Step 2: Gently press the pillowcase to remove any excess water. Do not twist or wring the pillowcase.
Step 3: Place the pillowcase on top of a fresh towel, fold it in half, and gently press to remove additional water.
Step 4: Give a gentle shake, reshape to remove creases, and place on a drying rack in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight or heat as they can weaken fibers.
Tips: Avoid hanging over sharp edges, such as over a door.
4. How To Iron Or Steam Your Silkora Pillowcase?
The creases will naturally relax over a few days, but you can also steam or iron them out. We recommend steaming your Silkora Pillowcases, silk does look its best when it's smooth.
If you have a steamer, we recommend steaming the creases out of your Silkora Pillowcase, ensuring it does not get too hot.
If you choose to use an iron, set it to low heat or delicate mode. Also, ensure your Silkora Pillowcase is inside out. It is better if the pillowcase is slightly damp before ironing.
Common Care Questions
Are Silkoras SilverSilk™ Pillowcases easy to wash?
Absolutely! We've designed Silkoras SilverSilk™ to be super easy to care for. Unlike traditional silk that needs delicate handwashing, our pillowcases are machine washable too. Just toss them in a gentle cycle with cold water, using a mesh wash bag and a mild pH-neutral liquid detergent for the best care.
Should I wash my Silkora Pillowcase before its first use?
While there's no strict rule about washing your Silkora pillowcase right out of the box, some people like to give it a quick wash. Totally your call!
How often should I wash my Silkora SilverSilk™ Pillowcase?
Infusing our silk with silver maintains the freshness of your pillowcase for an extended duration, so you only need to wash it every 10-14 days - that’s 3x times less often compared to cotton!
